Is it God's will for us to be prosperous?

Today there is a misunderstanding in the Body of Christ concerning the word 'prosperity' many believe it only relates to money and wealth.

In the Bible prosperity refers to prosperity in our spirit soul and body.

3 John 1:2 (amp) Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in every way and [that your body] may keep well, even as [I know] your soul keeps well and prospers.

In every way means spirit, soul body (1 Thess 5:23)

Spiritual prosperity is the freedom from sin and death. Our spiritual prosperity begins when we are Born Again. Growth in our spiritual life opens the door to other areas of prosperity, when we begin to walk in the spirit and allow the Holy Spirit  to guide us in every area of life.

Rom 8:13 (amp) For if you live according to [the dictates of] the flesh, you will surely die. But if through the power of the [Holy] Spirit you are [habitually] putting to death (making extinct, deadening) the [evil] deeds prompted by the body, you shall [really and genuinely] live forever.

Prosperity in our soul is the renewing of the mind to the word of God, the ability to walk in the Holy Spirit, walking in the word of God. Submitting our mind, will and emotion to the will of the Holy Spirit to renew our mind to the word of God. (Rom 12:2)

Physical prosperity involves prosperity in health and in wealth. Health and wealth belong to every believer. God wants to heal our body of its infirmities and also remove want from our life.

God?fs word promises every believer a wholesome blessing called ?gProsperity.?h

We read in Mark 5: 25-34 about Jesus healing the woman who had an issue of blood. The Bible says that she had suffered many things for twelve long years.

That is quite a long time! She had spent all that she had to get her long-awaited healing. In addition to being sick and broken in spirit, she also had to face rejection by the society. She would surely have gone through an emotional trauma.

Jesus just did not heal her body but also met her emotional need. He says, ?gDaughter; your faith has made you well, go in peace and be healed of your affliction.?h

The word ?ewell?f is a wholesome word signifying the prosperity she received in all the areas of her life.

You and I can receive the same if we do what the woman did.

* First, she heard about Jesus.

* Secondly, she believed.

* Thirdly, she confessed.

* Fourthly, she acted on it. Every step is significant.

?gThe Word of God?h is where we need to start. Hearing the word of God is the bottom line.

What we hear in our time of need is very important. We should not look at the circumstances but rather look at what God?fs word says.

What our ear hears gets embedded in our spirit. How we hear God?fs word is even more important.

We need to hear with an open heart and without doubt or unbelief. Pondering over negative things will only steer us in the wrong direction.

But belief in God?fs word removes the fear of impossibilities and brings in faith.

Next is the ?esaying?f part. This is one step higher. Believers have no problem ?ebelieving?f but have difficulty expressing their faith with their words.

Jesus said in Mark 11:23, ?gFor assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, Be removed and be cast into the sea, and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.?h

We see the word ?ebelieve?f only once. But the word ?esay?f appears thrice. That means ?esaying?f is really significant.

God told Joshua in Joshua 1:8, ?gThis Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then, will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.?h

Note the word, ?gmouth?h. God wants the word of God to be on our lips.

For the word of God to come out of our mouth, it has to get into our heart first.

Then as we believe, we also start speaking the word. Only then do we act on God?fs word.

So it is God's will for us to prosper and have success  (Josh 1:8 see the section on success)

Prosperity comes via the seed, which is the word of God. (Luk 8:11),  the means by which the seed is sown can be by the mouth e.g. salvation seed is sown by the mouth from the heart  (Rom 10:10 amp) or it can be sown using a physical commodity such as money, money is not the seed, but becomes the  vehicle for the seed, the word of God is the seed to be sown

In Mark 12:16-17 Jesus says render unto God that which is God's using a coin as an example, the coin is representing wealth, which can be the vehicle or the means by which we can pay, render or sow the word of God in a situation and the harvest is returned back to God to His Glory and praise (result) that which is God's

Wealth then is one means of sowing, when wealth is sown as a vehicle carrying the word of God.

A vehicle is a means, such as when Paul used handkerchiefs or aprons to sow the word of God. (Acts 19:12)

Conversely., wealth can be used as an anti anointing carrying the seed of destruction (1 Tim 6:10) in this verse it says that the love of money, not money itself is a root of all evils, note the verse says the love of something other than God is the root.

It does not mean that money is evil, but that money when used incorrectly can be used to promote the love of something other than God, the return from this would a corrupted harvest.

Many believe that it is not God's will for Christians to have wealth, the misunderstanding is that to have wealth will automatically lead to corruption, or that Christians should remain poor.

Yet, Jesus came to deliver the poor and broken hearted, from their poverty, body soul, spirit to be made complete and whole.(Is 61:1-3 amp)

Luke 4:18 (amp) The Spirit of the Lord [is] upon Me, because He has anointed Me [the Anointed One, the Messiah] to preach the good news (the Gospel) to the poor; He has sent Me to announce release to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to send forth as delivered those who are oppressed [who are downtrodden, bruised, crushed, and broken down by calamity],

Luke 4:19 (amp) To proclaim the accepted and acceptable year of the Lord [the day [when salvation and the free favors of God profusely abound].

Luke 6:38 (amp) Give, and [gifts] will be given to you; good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over, will they pour ^]into [the pouch formed by] the bosom [of your robe and used as a bag]. For with the measure you deal out [with the measure you use when you confer benefits on others], it will be measured back to you.
